National Hispanic Scholar of the Year

The Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) selected me as the 2016 Hispanic Scholar of the Year out of a pool of 4,164 HSF Scholars from across the United States.

Commencement Speaker

In May 2012, I had the honor of giving the valedictorian speech at Pueblo High School in Tucson, Arizona. Four years later, I was selected to deliver the Goodwin Commencement address, “The Power of the Common Good,” at Bowdoin College’s 211th Commencement in Brunswick, Maine.

Student Marshal

The installation of a president marks a momentous occasion in the life of a university. In October 2015, I had the privilege of delivering the official welcome address titled “Global Citizens” on behalf of students at the Inauguration of Dr. Clayton S. Rose as the 15th President of Bowdoin College.
